Alessandra Capuano and Orazio Carpenzano work together since 1991, but URBANLAB was founded in 2005. Common aim has been, since the beginning, the union of theory and practice, combining intellectual efforts and cultural activity with the exercise of the profession.

They participated to several design competitions - as a team or as individuals in other groups - obtaining pritzes and mentions as for: the Competition Centopiazze per Roma for the area of Fidene and for the area La Rustica; the Competiiton for the Convention Center in the Eur, Rome; the Competition for piazza Matteotti in Matera; the Competition for the New Master Plan for the seaside of S. Benedetto del Tronto. Recently have been selected as finalists for the Competition of the Municiplaity of Rome "Menoèpiù 2" for the design of a new kindergarden school at the Divino Amore.
They are currently involved in the design of the new Logistic Hub of Fiumicino.

Their work has been at the Biennale of Venice of 2006 and in some collective exhibitions in Rome and Barcelone. Projects and writings appear in several publications and magazines.

The team is supported by two young architects, Alessandra Di Giacomo and Tommaso Pallaria, that collaborate permanently in the professional work.
Young draughtsmen and internships help in the development of the projects.
The firm is frequently flanked by consultants in the landscape, environmental control, technical systems such as structural, lighting, etc.

The team works with updated software for 2D and 3D drawings as well as with animation programs. The design control is frequently made through the use of models developed at the most convenient scales.

In certain occasions, especially competitions, the team participated in association with other offices.
